20 Trailblazers Are Leading The Way In Double Pushchair

Which  visit these guys  Should You Buy?

It's easy to move around in a lightweight double pushchair, especially if you have kids of different age groups. They're typically simple to steer, fold and carry up and down stairs.

This City Mini GT2 offers side-by-side seats with plenty of legroom and reclining that can be adjusted. It also has huge UPF 50+ canopies with peekaboo windows. It also features a smart frame that can be expanded to accommodate a second car seat, and also a compatible car seat(s).

Side-by-Side

The majority of the lightweight double pushchairs we tested were side-by-side models. These are best for children who can sit up without assistance, as they tend to lack car seat compatibility. That said there are some exceptions. Thule Urban Glide 2 Double and Baby Trend Sit 'N Stand Double are both excellent options that offer adjustable recline in both seats, a huge canopy, and padded 5-point harnesses. They are also easy to maneuver despite their bigger footprint. They are great for parents who worry about fitting through doors.

The Cybex Duet is a little different due to its unique frame that extends its width to create a second seat, making it slimmer than other pushchairs with side-by-side seating on the market. This means it fits through doors that are standard and is easy to move around on public transport. It can also be used as a jogger, which is a great feature when you're planning to use it in conjunction with an infant carrier or car seat, and comes in a variety of exciting colors.

The UPPAbaby Vista v2 double is another excellent lightweight side-by-side double. It offers additional flexibility due to a modular frame. Its clever design lets you to transform it into an individual or double buggy by adding two carrycots or child car seats. It can even accommodate twins. It's a fantastic and practical choice for growing families, and the UPPAbaby also makes one of the lightest and most stylish umbrella strollers around.

If you prefer a more compact, lightweight double, consider the egg2 that folds down to the size of a small suitcase. It can be used either as a double or a single by adding two baby car seats or carrycots. Our home testers were impressed with how easy it was to maneuver even with a full load of children.

Double pushchairs with side-by-side seating aren't foolproof, though -- if your children are of the same age or stage they might still argue over who is allowed to ride in which seat. And if they're different heights, a tandem model could be better for them as it lets them face each other.

Tandem

While side-byside models are more suited to siblings of similar age group, tandem light  double strollers  have their own charms. Some can accommodate an extra car seat, while others come with reversible seats. Others even have an additional carrycot or convertible seat in the middle. They are bigger and easy to get into and out of. However, their baskets tend to be smaller than the ones found on buggies that are single. They often have larger canopy, peekaboo windows and even padded leg cushions.

The iCandy Peach tandem is another great example of a lightweight tandem that offers great value. Its fabric feels a bit less expensive than our other top-rated doubles but it looks and feels great and is very easy to use. Its one-handed folding is awe-inspiring. Even though it requires some time to master, Kirstie from our Lab described it as "genius". The carrycot cannot be folded while it is attached. However, the process to attach and remove the carrycot is simple and quick.

Tandem strollers that are lightweight usually make tighter turning than side-by-side models. However, they may be difficult to drive on uneven surfaces and curbs. They are also slower to accelerate and heavier to move. This can put stress on your back.

Another option is a convertible double buggy which is initially one-person, but you add adapters to turn it into a double. They can have the option of a second seat, a carrycot, or both in front. Or the children can be seated together. Some of them also offer the option to add a buggy board, which could help older children keep up with a younger sibling.

The Uppababy Vista V2 can be converted into a twin-sized pram by purchasing additional cocoons at PS59 each. These cocoons create an area that is flat for newborns. They can be placed side by side or attached to each other's faces and you can use them in conjunction with the baby car seat that is included with the pushchair (as long as you choose a compatible one). Since they are made of high-quality materials, these dual-use buggies can often be used for years without showing much wear, meaning they have the highest resale value.

Single-to-Double

This compact double buggy is designed for outdoor-loving family who are looking to upgrade from a single-stroller. It can be converted into a jogger by acquiring the kit that comes with air-filled tires and all-wheel-suspension. It also handles rough terrain well and it's a tandem triple that is suitable for twins or children of different age groups. It's also a good choice for parents who are looking for an elegant design that's as sleek as a single and comes in a variety of fabrics.

This iCandy model is incredibly easy to fold with a single-handed system. And although it's heavier than other single-to-double pushchairs featured in this review, home tester Karolina stated that it is very maneuverable, even with two toddlers and a carrycot in it.

You can purchase add-ons like the Roma Gemini Carrycots (PS100) which are perfect for newborns. Our panel of testers found that the seats were comfortable for toddlers, with excellent headrests and lumbar support. And there are a variety of options for recline, with the front seat adjusting to various positions, and the rear seat offering a recline option.

This kind of buggy has the biggest disadvantage of being wider than doubles that are side-by-side. This makes it difficult to maneuver through doorways and it can be difficult to get up and down kerbs. However, the wheels and suspension on these types of strollers generally do a good job of dealing with pavements and the fact that they're much lighter than some of the side-bysides means that you still have plenty of storage space. It's important to keep in mind that strollers of this type aren't as efficient in getting through narrow aisles in supermarkets and aren't able to handle a large amount of shopping. Although it's easier to turn the stroller around on a small curved path, this can be a challenge. Some are easier to turn than others, such as the Thule Urban Glide 2 Double or the Baby Trend Sit N' Stand Double.

Convertible

Convertible double pushchairs are great because they are able to be adapted to the changing requirements of families. They often start out as single buggies and include adapters to add the second seat, a carrycot, or (in certain instances) a car seat to the frame. Some can be converted back to a single when your child reaches the age of walk or prefers to ride a buggyboard.

This stylish tri-fold double stroller can be described as one of the lightest strollers on our list. It can hold up to 40 pounds per child and comes with an integrated storage basket between the seats. The home testers loved the spacious canopy that has windows that can be seen from the outside, multi-position reclining seats and front and rear suspensions for smoother rides on rough terrain. It also has a handy parent cup holder and an ample, easy-to-access basket. However, they noted that the backs of the seats have small pockets that aren't large enough to hold more than a smartphone and keys.

This light, high-end side-byside is available in more than 20 different configurations. It also comes with a second seat and carrycot. Its impressive feature set includes a handlebar with a high-profile design for easier steering as well as rear and front suspensions to smooth rough terrain; a self-standing compact fold that has straps for easy schlepping and seven-inch swivel lock front wheels and 10-inch rear wheels with suspension for a smoother ride. The only downside is that you'll have to purchase a separate car seat or baby carrier.

This versatile tandem is a top choice by our home testers due to its maneuverability and large shopping basket, which is accessible with both seats facing the parent. Its extremely lightweight weight (about the same as a few single pushchairs) makes it easy to maneuver. Reversible seats mean you can flip them to face either direction and the clever way that it attaches a second seat or riding board to the rear is appreciated by many. Parents also appreciated the fact that it can accommodate infant car seats and carriers from multiple brands, including some which aren't usually fit in other double buggies.
